A nice day shopping for kids...

And i didn't mean we were shopping for more kids, mashallah we have enough...




We were shopping to get things for the kids in the new furniture center that opened up on Wednesday "kika"..

I think that picture is a very nice and funny one, my girl with L's kids.. mashallah they always have fun together.. May they stay friends like their grandmother, and mother's stayed all those years together..

I had this big cork tile for ages, I can't even remember where did I get it from,and I've always wanted to have a fabric covered bulletin board..

So that day I was feeling sick from my cold, but still needed to do something, when I noticed the cork tile just sitting there doing nothing , looking ugly..

When I tried to deal with it, it broke, first I felt mad, but then discovered that this way it would fit perfectly over my soon to be sewing area.



So I picked my fabrics, planned the style, sewed them all together with a rik rak trim and a pocket..

Glued the backs with white glue and left it for a while to dry..



And ta daaa .. I now have a cute bulletin board to keep all my precious memories where i can always see and remember them..




What do you think? I didn't have a frame for it, and I didn't know any other way to hang it there, so I just put a two sides tape there, hopefully it will keep stuck for a looong time..

A small project for the small one..

Once upon a time, there was a bored woman, who tried to occupy her time with as much projects as possible to avoid her thoughts into going into the forgotten forest, and being forever lost in misery..

After sewing for a while (bed skirt and curtains) she decided to change her crafting materials, so she will not get sick of them..
So armed with a blank canvas, paint and a diet coke ( a must these days)..



She produced this little thing..



Which is small yet color coordinated with the rest of the room



of course, she still need to paint the walls and add the princesses border she got for her little one, to separate her part of the room from the rest of it ..

But that is another story for another day..

Too much work..

To achieve something that I don't really find very good.. not like I imagined it to be, But let me start from the begening..

First I decided which fabric to use. Too many options in my black,white and pink theme.. But i got settles on those..



Then using my square template, I started cutting many many many squares from all the fabrics..



Sewed them together.. 8 meters made of blocks..



Ironed them flat, then ironed one seam using a heat-a-bond tape..



sewed the band into a store bought white bed skirt..



Ironed and put in it's place..



I don't like it very much...!



Maybe after I start and finish with my black quilted bed spread it will look decent..

An ear piercing event

We took 4 adorable girls today to have their ears pierced in the pharmacy.. ages ranging from 1 to 13 .. It was a new experience, at some point both of us moms felt like fainting from anticipation.. but thankfully neither did.
So first the look of waiting for the unknown..



Having the pharmacist put the mark..



Getting the ears pierced going once..Bravely..



going twice..With teary eyes..



going thrice..Kicking and screaming..



I couldn't get number four, my kid was crying toilet, false alarm though..
So now after 4 and a half years of being earing less.. here she is with her first one..



And every one went home happy with lipsticks..

Cute hair cuts

Cute kids mashallah, having cute hair cuts. I didn't get the third one he was already finished by the time I was there, they are my friend's kids..






I think mine needs one too...



But she just loves her long hair mashallah.. Maybe one day.

Snow flakes in spring..

That is the cat's name..



He's my friend's cat, a very white, fluffy cute cat that is adorable mashallah, and he knows it..

He goes well with her to-die-for house.. mashallah she is one of the best home makers I've seen, she makes her house so homey that I would like to live there myself..!

Still nothing interesting enough to share with you, just normal life which isn't bad, just nun eventful..Except for the poor sandy weather we are having.. It seems that it keeps happening in the weekends..
